Today we discussed motion diagrams and graphs. Students were then invited to explore the meaning of the graphs using sonic motion detectors to relate everything to real world motions. The homework for motion diagrams from the syllabus was added and we can discuss them Tuesday. We will look at wrapping up the Algebra portion and testing it on thursday. Then we will introduce Calulus and rehash these concepts again using Calculus.

Today we handed back the work I had graded while students had time to finish their Graph Skills Handout to turn in from yesterday. Then we finished Notes for Section 1-3 essentially ending new material for Unit 1. Students need to ensure they answer the remaining questions on their notes for a possible Notes Check on Tuesday. Finally we started a lab by collecting data that we will analyze and graph on Tuesday. A look ahead reveals a review wednesday of next week with a Unit 1 Test on Thursday!

Today we further developed the concept of acceleration and motion to derive the four equations of motion that the students need to memorize. They recieved a syllabus for the first part of Ch2 the algebra based portion. Next we will do a Calculus intro and then recover the same material using Calculus. Problems assigned were 20, 21, 22, 23, 27

We answered questions about the homework and then investigated motion using the computerized motion detectors to give students a physical link to what motion is represented by dist/time and Vel/time graphs. Students are to look at problems 49,50,51
